Transportation plays an important part in economic growth and globalization, because better transport allows more trade and a greater spread of people. Economic growth has always been dependent on increasing the capacity and rationality of transportation. It is also a necessity for specialization --- allowing production and consumption of products to occur at different locations.

Transportation is performed by various modes, such as air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline and space. In an integrated traffic system, railways play a leading role with its advantages over other modes of transportation. In large and medium sized cities, the rail transit is an important way to optimize urban traffic system. Throughout the world, more and more urban rail transit lines have been or are being planned and constructed, so it can be predicted that massive embedded automation products will be needed in this field. The integrated automation control system for urban rail transit includes station security system, dispatching system, surveillance system, detection and maintenance system.
